"There were many good aspects of this hotel and some that were lacking. the spa was in transition but we were not told this when we booked our reservation. SO one of the main reasons we chosse this hotel was lacking. I was assigned a male for my massage without my knowledge so I cancelled and did not have it. I do not feel comfortable with a make masseuse. The desk said several times that they ALWAYS ask if you want a male or female when you book, but they did NOT ask me when I telephoned in advance of my arrival. So I did not have that treatment which was a disappointment. The afternoon by the pool was a total disaster. The staff,and parents,let the unruly children take over the pool and scream and make so much noise that those of us who were trying to enjoy the afternoon by the pool and have some conversation or read or just relax were unable to do any of those things. We asked that the children be asked to quieten down but, after calling the manager, the pool staff, who were basically just selling food, were told that they could not do that. The reason was that the parents were paying guests so the children could do what they wanted to do, I presume. We were also paying guests, as well as several other adults who were there and very unhappy with that situation, but our comfort was completely ignored. We did not ask that the children be banished, we just asked for them to be reminded to be quieter and not so unruly as to disturb other PAYING guests. As a result, I don't know if I will recommend the hotel. Our needs were not taken seriously . Even tho it is a lovely hotel with wonderful possibilities, these glaring problems marred out stay."
